welcome to my life
SOULFISHER Racing is the latest adventure in my journey with God. I consider it an incredible blessing to be able to be a part of a sport that I have long been interested in, but only dreamt possible. I hope that you find this site both interesting and challenging.

I just posted up a video page that links in my racing Youtube videos.  Check it out by clicking on “Videos” on the menu up above.  Especially interesting is the Rock Falls Raceway 2008 video.

Well, I finished painting last night and couldn’t wait to come home tonight and remove the masking.  I’m very pleased with the look!  Check it out. The final paint job

New photos uploaded.  Finally getting some paint on the car.  Pretty much everything else to do has been done once before, so I am pretty confident I can get to the end of this project.  It’s been fun, but it will be a relief!

The underbody and engine compartment are primed and painted.   Next up: put on the suspension and take it off the rotisserie. Engine compartment primed and painted

Well, on February 25th, the car entered it’s lowest stage, completed stripped.  Everything from here is putting it back together.  It took me 2 months since getting the car from having the cage fabricated to now to get this far.  Granted, I did a lot of construction on the front end, but I’m feeling the pressure of only six weeks to Test and Tune and Chassis Certification.  I think I’ll make it, but another mid April snow storm would be welcomed.

Just as in life, sometimes one has to go back and strip everything down to the basics.   My car is now on the rotisserie and will soon be media blasted to prep for paint and the long road of rebuilding.  April isn’t far enough away at times. Another shot on the rotisserie

Well, the front end mounting brackets are finally constructed and the front end mounted to the car.  Took to the last day of January, but it’s done.  Now on to the rest of the body work.

I began the year getting my car back from David Kittel who fabricated a new 12 pt cage along with fixing some major rust issues.  This was the little project that got big.  I’ve created a photo journal page for this and you can find it here:

The young couple had no place to go.  Recently engaged, a baby on the way, financial challenges and now they didn’t even have a home.  No option was left to them except to go back to their home town.  Maybe they could find something there.  Yet it seemed when they got there every place was full, it was cold, they were hungry, and the options were few.  Any shelter would due, yes, even an old stable.  At least there might be some warmth among the animals.

Yes, this is the story that leads to the birth of Christ.  It is one found in despair, feeling lost and without hope, yet from the cold, dark reality of a Bethlehem night long ago and far away sprung forth a life of hope, not just for a few but for all.  That is Jesus Christ, our Lord.

This season seems to be filled with the same uncertainty for many that Mary and Joseph must have faced.  Foreclosures on the rise, job losses, and financial loss are all around us.  Long standing “blue chip” companies on the verge of bankruptcy.  Add on top of that the emotional pain of death, broken relationships, shattered dreams and one is left it seems with little if any hope.

Yet, Christ came to bring hope.  Not necessarily a hope that when you wake up tomorrow on Christmas day, all will be better, but rather a hope that is founded in knowing you are not alone in your sufferings, that there is one who is the comforter, Emmanuel, God with us, that cares and will stay with you, not only until better days, but until the end of time.  And know that there are those around, those who not only call themselves by His name, but also attempt to live as He lived, reaching out to the needy, touching the sick, and fellowshipping with those who suffer.  Don’t spend this Christmas alone, reach out to God, but reach out to those around who love you.  Give them a chance to share in the pain, to encourage you, and to be a light.

God bless and Merry Christmas.
